Marvel Big Bang

Well.

I think I came up with a plot. And I may be the *only* person in the world interested in it, but I am interested in it. I'm not committing or anything, but I opened a document and have started putting in all the snippets and tangents that I think of when I contemplate the story. Usually while I'm walking/running and listening to music.

I have 1500 words so far - totally disconnected, but I am starting to see the bones of this story, and I like it. I'm glad I have months to keep poking it - and I'm also glad that there's no pressure.

If something comes together, great! If not, at least I can enjoy it. :)

I definitely have the "key" song picked out. The one I can listen to over and over to get me in the headset of this story. "I Was Born to Run" by American Authors if anyone wants to listen. It's got a good beat and a great upbeat energy in it. I heard it the other night (maybe for the first time?) and have listened to it probably 50 times in the last week.

Writing Thoughts

My life is so hectic right now and I find myself being drawn more and more to want to write - but without the ability to follow through. I really am thinking about

marvel_bang, though, because if I don't have to sign up until the drafts are due. So, I either manage it or not. No risk of signing up and then failing.

And, I think I have an idea that would easily fill a story that size (and probably then some, if I'm not careful). So, I may play with an outline and see how that goes, but if I start now... I could maybe finish by draft deadline.

I joined the discord for this challenge and I'm hoping to find some sense of community there. I think that would make it easier and more fun to finish. (Always looking to talk fic ideas - mine, yours, whatever!) and be cheerleaders in general. So, yeah, if you're interested. :)

I think, though, that my life's demands are such right now that I can't spend the time and energy that I used to writing - but it's more time and energy *now* that it was during the Big Drought of not writing at all. The pendulum swings, I guess.

Summary:

After twenty years of spinning webs, Peter Parker has lost the joy he once had. After life kicks him in the teeth, repeatedly, he has grown cold to the world around him, only taking joy in the occasional contact he gets to share with his daughter.

But when the preeminent super hero teams of New York are taken out of commission, a crime wave like the city hasn't seen in decades sweeps across the Five Boroughs. Teaming up with two amazing friends, Peter has the chance to reclaim his spotlight and maybe break out of the rut he's lived in for so long.

Just... wow. It carried a lot of punches. I read it all in one day, ignoring more pressing things to finish. But... punches. So, go in carefully.

Also, including trigger warnings for death, illness, homophobia, and rape. They are parts of the plot, but read at your own risk for sure.

Femslash Stories!! Whoot!

I am so pleased with the story, by the horns,here that lastwingedthing wrote for me! It is a wonderful first time story with Mirrim and Menolly (Dragonriders of PERN) and it doesn't brush over the complications of first times! Whee!

It's also very set in the world of PERN and it hints at some of the complications that their relationship could face, which I also love.

Thank you for everything! This is just such a wonderful treat. :)

As for my story, the first I've written in almost a year, I wrote Stockholm, which is a Disney Princess (all Sleeping Beauty, though) Aurora/Maleficient story. I won't lie... it's pretty fucked up.

But, I enjoyed writing it. And I enjoyed writing again.

ETA: General Thoughts

I love plot, witty dialog, clever characters. I'm happy with fluff, angst, porn, or any other variation. I have a huge fic!kink for noir, though, if you wanna take any of this in that direction. I like exploration of character flaws. I also like slice of life - a lot!

I adore all of these characters. I love all of these worlds. So, you are welcome to go in any direction you'd like, honestly.

Dislikes: I don't deal well with non-con or dub-con (unless you focus on the fall out as realistically as possible). I don't like torture (not that I think that's an issue). I don't like character bashing, although I don't mind snark or honest observations.

I'm very, very excited! Thank you, writer, for whatever you do for me. I'm gleeful!
