Random Ramblings
Aug. 19th, 2021 05:00 pmI am in the process of moving my fics from LJ to AO3, which means I am rereading a ton of my own old work. It's been strange and fun and mostly positive! There have been a handful of fics that I've left in ancient history, because they weren't worth moving, but over all, I've been pleased to see that I still like my old stuff. Haha!
It's also rekindling old obsessions. I have a fic that I never finished (shocking!) that I'm gathering up as I go with full intentions of finishing it now. (Also, I will never post WIPs again. Sheesh.)
When it comes to Death Note, however, I immediately fell down the same rabbit hole I was in when I read it forever ago. My memory of the manga isn't sharp, so I probably should reread at some point, but OMG! I have sought out fics shipping my favorite characters again.
Even more amusingly, as I was rereading my old stuff, I hit a point where I wondered what a different character would make of the whole situation - and the next fic I'd written was from that character's POV! HA! Clearly, my brain works the same way even thought it's like 15 years later.
