The protein and fibre in the beans helps counteract the sugar. Beans are really good, even if in molasses or maple syrup. =D Lower your salt intake as much as you can (don't cut it completely). You only need 1500mg a day, and the rest contributes to hypertension, makes you hungrier, makes you gain weight, raises your blood pressure etc etc etc. Now that I've lectured you,good luck!
